Tim's Mariachi Leader

We focus in on what Tim has been doing as he paints up his Mariachi Leader and the rest of his dirty, rotten, brutalised skeletons for his Undead army.

Do you prefer the dirty of the clean look for your forces on the tabletop?

Maracas of death what’s not to like

I like my undead filthy, their armor ratty and weapons rusted, but seeing those maracas…I have to admit, it kind of makes me wish Tim had carried that vibrant orange, yellow and blue color scheme through the entire army. Filthy skeletons wearing retina-scarring attire would be quite a sight on the battlefield.

Loving the dirty look, and great conversion.

An interest conversion! Perhaps something to do for those buying in with multiple core sets and having duplicate heroes.

I really like the super dirty look of the skellies. I may try something like that. The maracas don’t really fit the theme, but are great! That was not what I was expecting, and it was a pleasant surprise.

Love it! Having fun and making experiments is main goal if this kind of week-end, right?

Looks nice, but I’m really concerned about the game being oversimplified.

I’m sure everyone will be terrified of him on the battlefield.

As to the clean vs. gritty looks of armies: on the table top I want them to pop and be easily identified from across the table. The grimy look may be fantastically done and minutely detailed but with the lighting over most gaming tables, the figures might as well have been primed black and based. And I’m tired of the whole dark, dreary look, especially with “evil” armies. Companies, such as Army Painter, make more paints than black, dark brown and charcoal gray. The colors of the maraccas are a nice spot of color, making the leader stand out from… Read more »

When he said he would model them as maracas in an earlier video I thought I must have misheard him… lol… nice standout piece for the weekend.

I would have green stuff’d a sombrero for that skeleton hero to match the maracas lol. Oh wait…is that appropriate?

Now all he needs is a headress of rotten fruit to go with those moraccas
