John's Painting Tutorial - Rune Golem
Join John as he paints up the Rune Golem from the RuneWars boxed set. As you can see this is a great model to have some fun with.
How would you approach painting up your Rune Golem for the Daqan Forces?
cool scheme lookinf forward to basing.
The third dry brush step really made the rock stand out I think. Very nicely done and finished quickly.
Looking good John!
looking great 🙂
A good job there John. I’d certainly be tempted to wash the metal work as well.
Because it’s a centerpiece model, I know I’d end up fussing over that damn thing all weekend, doing 6 stages of dry brushing, multiple highlights, and adding all the stupid little details that, when you get right down to it, nobody is going to see when it’s on the table. So, I really appreciate these videos because, even speed painting, the end results look damn good. I feel like maybe I can be okay with easing up on my painting OCD.
Great explanation, gives the less artistic of us some hope :-D. You don’t have to master the hardest of techniques to be able to get great results.
Nice job John.
Achievable steps for everyone, nice tuto mate also great results.
This was way better the infantry!^^
just a focused wash on some points and it would be perfect!^^
I like this model the best out of what’s been released, waiting for treemen type for the elves
Awesome
The rune golem is my favorite unit so far. I will probably be picking up a couple of these when the expansions come out.
Quick and easy, like it.
That looks great John! I’m wondering what Romain would do with that stone golem. I’m sure he’d do something a little different.
Nice & quick paintjob
I heard a hobby weekender in a previous video talking about painting the golem as magma. One of my friends is actually painting an Avatar of Khaine and it looks really promising!
Not bad I think Johns on to something!
Cartoony but effective!
Looks great. Love the mini
gd work
I like the texture on the rock. Nothing wrong with that at all. Nice clean lines.
Overall, great for table top quality.
I don’t know about the attempt at a glow. For a speed paint job I probably wouldn’t have bothered. That bit would need a little more work to really stand out.
You do nice work john
That came out really nice. I might use this over the other tutorial I found on Youtube recently
Really like the pant job. Great work.
