The tower looks great but I never really understand why people use something like that…

How similar is the maneuvering to X-Wing? I imagine part of the challenge is having to predict what your opponent will do.

Similar mechanic, I overshot with my Cavalry and had to spend a turn to reform, but luckily the are very manoeuvrable and I was able to move as well.

I really like this idea. Joining the hobby weekend from afar. If it hadn’t been a product that isn’t in retail yet, this is something the community could have joined in on. Maybe we could do something like this in the future. Give people a theme or a certain game (like Hordes or Wolsung or the likes), some kind of lower limit to how many minies etc. And the we could share pictures and chat on a thread in the forum. Obviously it wouldn’t be the same as being on a hobby bootcamp, and can’t really get a game in.… Read more »

oooh I love this! Great idea. Either solo or with a few friends round for a hobby/game weekend, and then we could use the forum, discord or somewhere on BoW to post hobby progress/gaming updates/questions as text/photos/videos etc. And the live blog on BoW could either be select highlights or ALL of these updates from those taking part (after curation/vetting!), or select highlights. Maybe with interviews via skype or something with those signed up for it. Could even take it further and people could pay to take part (similar to this boot camp) but starter packs could be posted to… Read more »

Great suggestion.

I always work best when my wargaming buddy is sitting around waiting for me to finish up painting the opposing force. Imagine having 100s of buddies cheering you on.

Small forces like painting Saga warbands, Warhammer Quest or Imperial Assault wold work.

Good job. I think it is great idea to join in from afar. It is easier to join in on a hobby weekend than on a boot camp (I think).

I wish BoW would consider a remote Boot Camp, not just in Ireland…

I am also a long way from anybody and I think it would be great if we could do something as suggested, joining in remotely but being more physically involved. In the old days people used to play chess via post and set up a board in each side then move your apponents pieces via letters received. If there is a game that has some form of grid to be able to setup two smaller starter factions and then mimic the moves of your apponent via online messages or photos we could game “remotely”. Games that come to mind are… Read more »
