Let’s Play: Test Of Honour – The Samurai Miniatures Game
March 27, 2017 by johnlyons
The guys from Warlord Games have visited the studio to show off their new game, Test Of Honour. John is blown away by the game and with battling Samurai...who wouldn't be?
The models are gorgeous and even more so, the terrain for Sarissa Precision. It really brings the game to life.
In this little game, we're showing off How To Play with basic tips and tactics on each faction...and a few special things along the way.
When will you be fighting for honour?

This game looks absolutely gorgeous. Just checked the entry price, £35 quid! Can’t go wrong.
It’s even cheaper on Wayland, still, I’d have been happy with the retail.
Lets get rent out of the way before ordering………I can wait……………..right?
I’m definitely picking this up next week.
This game is really looking good. The guys at Warlord just keep getting it right! Thanks for the video great job!
I really like the honor system. That idea of boosting now, and then chancing things falling apart later on. It’s a great idea.
thanks gents.
those musical interludes were super cool
@emptynessisform glad you liked them, they were fun to make too 🙂
🙂
Great game.
Got mine just need to build my force.
This looks to be a beautifully designed game. I don’t really have much of an interest in samurai, but I think I might get the game anyway.
I got the bundle deal… each skill card is different… that`s a lot of skills…. and also the quest cards add extra skills in time on your starting 2-3 limit. I must say i fell asleep again in this video, its just the camera never shows off the painted figures or the terrain up close…i wish they try out a hand cam and pass it back and forth….. but lovely looking table
Anyone know if the rules, cards, dice and tokens etc will be sold individually? I have a large influx of samurai models and scenery incoming so I won’t actually need the figures/starter set
So loved playing the demo at Adepticon. Great fun!
I really liked this game, very much. Thanks for putting it on.
Lick the possible quick or long turn sequence of play.
I really love the miniatures and look forward to playing.
OK, here comes the stupid question.
Anyone know what mat they are playing on?
I also think this table layout has been one of the best looking tables I have seen for a while. The combination of mat, trees, buildings and scatter terrain look beautiful. It’s simple but elegant and just works really well.
It’s from the original Frontline tablewar fatmat KickStarter, the companies split, not sure which is now selling this mat.
Hopefully my pre order bundle will arrive tomorrow.
I got my copy in the mail yesterday and looked at it really quick last night. Very happy and can’t wait to build some minis and get a game in.
Glad to see the old WGF models getting there own game and new custom bits (even if they are metal head swaps).
Really enjoyed this battle, and looking forward to getting some games in myself once my Monks and Peasants are finished- more, please (perhaps the mini-campaign from the Battle Guide?)! 🙂
Looking like I’m going to have to put this on the salute list
Interesting game. I like the game mechanics with the activation tokens and that you also need to pull one out for your evade.
Thanks for the let’s play. I got this in the post the other day. There was something about this game that really attracted me, but wasn’t really down to the hype, because I was surprised how little hype there was. I hope they have done well financially and go from strength to strength, but I really feel they would have gotten more sales at preorder if they had a let’s play of this quality earlier. The Facebook group page for Test of Honour is pleasant enough and there’s loads of cool stuff on there, but the list makers and point… Read more »
Really not helping me to ignore this game, great play through.
Good to see John doing these let plays 🙂
Another good game from Warlord
Not sure about this one. Seems to be lots of luck involved with drawing out of the bag, then even more luck as dice are rolled lots. Effectively a bloodbath in the middle of the board based entirely on dice rolls.
These minis are gorgeous!
What mat is that?
