PlastCraft Release Their New Dropzone Color-ED Terrain Range
March 10, 2017 by brennon
PlastCraft has now added their range of Dropzone Commander terrain to the ColorED collection. So, if you want some pretty much ready to go buildings to battle around as the Scourge and the UCM this could be a good fit for your hobby room.
The range has been specifically designed to fit with the 10mm scale and proportions of Dropzone Commander with quite standard buildings like this Skyscraper here and the City Hotel that you see below. There's plenty of little nooks and crannies to hide your infantry that's for sure.
Looking deeper into the range they have some more focused buildings like the Corporation Tower here...
...and this Office Building which I really like. The sweeping design of this is very in keeping with a lot of modern building but has just enough of the Sci-Fi about it to look different and a little alien.
We finish things off with some of their buildings which would fit well within a grander narrative on the tabletop. Firstly we have the Twin Pyramids which might make for a good objective building to capture.
The walkway is looking like it would be ripe for some infantry to hang out on with their anti-tank weapons so they can start blasting apart foes from a place of relative safety. We finish off with the Air & Space Museum.
This building is a lot more compact than some of the others but features the same sweeping designs that tie things together into an overall aesthetic for the city. The landing pad is the key part of this structure however as it looks like a place where you'd maybe be trying to extract a VIP from perhaps?
What do you think of their new buildings?

Why are the Dropezone buildings always so nice and shiny? I thought they were abandoned to the scourge for two centuries…
*Spoiler* it’s not only on the old, Scourge-infested colonies that you can set games of DZC.
Although even on earth and the original colonies, the Scourge look after the buildings / parts of cities that their human hosts live in. They may not be motivated by the same aesthetic standards as the humans who built them (who knows?) but they want to maintain and look after the infrastructure they use.
I’m just waiting for someone to release parts that will enable you to ‘Scourge-ify’ human buildings!
I have a few of these and they are very nice. Assembly required, but they involve a lot less work than the 4Ground stuff for Dropzone.
Anything require less work than the 4ground buildings
Yeah, I’m building one of 4 grounds sci-fi buildings and it is turning into a bit of a slog, certainly in comparison to Plastcraft’s stuff which is so much easier to put together.
I’m a big fan of Plastcraft’s ColorED range; I wouldn’t mind if it was extended to some of the older Infinity kits (eg; the TAG hanger) if I’m being honest.
I bought a table’s worth of these when they were available to pre-order, and I am not disappointed. Took about a week’s worth of evenings to build them all, but generally they went together quiickly and look great on a DZC-themed playmat.
great futuristic buildings.
