IDW Announces Partnership With Atari To Bring Classics To The Tabletop
March 9, 2017 by stvitusdancern
OH, MY GOD! FOR SURE! The 80's are strong with us! I got some very exciting news today from an announcement from IDW Games. They have teamed up with Atari to bring us some of our favourite classics to the tabletop. And I do not mean a tabletop video game, but a good old-fashioned board game.
The first three games announced are Centipede, Asteroids and Missle Command. These games will be developed by Jon Gilmour, co-designer of Dead of Winter. All they are saying currently is that they will be fast paced and intense to capture the feel of the arcade game.
Not sure exactly as to how they will achieve that as of yet, but it will be interesting to see. The games are slated to start releasing in the Fall of 2017 with Centipede to be the first release. They will have sneak previews at GAMA next week. Time to bring out the Atari 2600 and get warmed up!
How do you think these will play?

Missile command and tank commander I can see being good fun on tabletop
Very interested to see these.
I wonder how they will handle/silmulate the trackball in missile command.
