Yet More Monsters Lurch from Achtung! Cthulhu
September 4, 2013 by dracs
The renders we have seen so far for the Achtung! Cthulhu miniatures have all been really promising so you can imagine our excitement when we check back and see that even more are appearing!
You might have already seen some of these, but they were so cool we didn't think you would mind seeing them a second time.
Elemental Miniatures, the sculptors of the Achtung! Cthulhu range, have been doing a great job in bringing these famously ill-defined creatures of Lovecraftian horror to life. My particular favourites have to be the ones which combine the ancient monsters with technology in some form, such as the Mi Go Augment. This is very much something that defines the style of Achtung! Cthulhu and somehow makes them seem more sinister.
Tell us what you think of these new nightmares from Modiphius.

Lovely idea to have the Hound of Tindalos appearing out of the wall. Very nice looking minis (or renders, anyway).
Heresy ! Everyone knows that the Hounds of Tindalos appear out of angles, not surfaces. Also, this one looks cute instead of menacing.
For once, I’m not convinced, here… And the Mi Go look a bit clumsy as well, and their technology looks much too earth-like.
Well actually, assuming that the mortar is not perfectly even with the bricks, a brick wall surface has more angles than you can shake a fist at >< Agreed on the technology though, it does look a little earth-scifi-ish, but I still like it, prefer the regular ones though 🙂
It’s quite possible… but even so, the dog still looks cartoony and weird.
