Things Get Heavy as Puppets War Unveil New Armoured Minis

Puppets War have been teasing us with images of new heavily armoured troops and transport. Now we finalyl found out what these are as they announce the Taurus Armoured Vehicle and the heavily armoured Destroyer trooper!
As a sci-fi vehicle the Taurus does everything you might expect of it, namely it has the aesthetics of an air-rade bunker which someone has somehow managed to attach wheels to.
As for the Destroyer, well let's just say I doubt he needs the protection of the Taurus.
We had already seen the Ripper, but the Destroyer just takes that general design and dials everything up to 11. Personally, I would think it is almost too big to even be a Terminator, but with some conversion work could make a nice Chaos Obliterator.

well WIP shots of that last dude have been floating about for months, but then again GW did invent space, soldiers, guns and armour, ermagerd they are stealing their IP!

The Ripper is more realistically what a powered-armour soldier is like. The destroyer is more akin to what a real life Terminator would be proportionally.
GW’s Centurions are just bad attempts to jump on a bandwagon. Plenty of other mini companies – including Puppets War – were already / had already made those type of suits.
If you want to call them that, yes… only they’re way better than the GW sludge.
I was thinking imp Guard,marine, terminator then centurion, but that makes sense

I hadn’t actually seen the Centurions until an hour ago. Eugh, GW you were doing so well with the Lizardmen releases
In order to keep development costs down GW have had to license Fisher Price Rescue Heroes toys to fill in for the new models in their Space Marines range.
Hey, Fisher Price fits their target demographic.
Puppets war has managed to produce a range of models that works very well as an alternative to GWs Space Marines and with every release it only gets better! I can only hope that the destroyer get enough options and upgrades to work as centurions becuase noone should buy those ugly things.

Taurus is really boxy vehicle and that design does fit it. Besides of having cloin armour that Destroyer is not bad.
I do like them, much better than GW’s Centurions, but I still don’t get the massive groin plate thing…unless the guys inside are half horse?
The ‘Taurus’ looks tough as though, I quite like it.
Yup I agree armoured tabards are a strange design choice.
Would you rather *not* have that protecting your jewels?
Never really got the extended Groin Guard. I’d rather shots that had missed and were going through the legs would do just that. The long guard would catch bullets etc. and even catch blast and potentially lead to more knock back.
Then realized….perhaps these things are supposed to do that….ie walking cover for the lighter armed guys behind. Basically moving walls……..
The groin armour will probably be a separate piece, so if you happen to be handy with a knife it should be possible to at least trim it down a bit or just replace it with something better. Still, as much as I dislike the groin armour, they are better than the new Centurions. Anything and everything is better than Centurions as far as I am concerned.
Personally if I was that man in that armor I would be rather appreciative having such heavy armor down in that area 😉

I realy like the look of these – very sci-fi rather than gothic, but still sized appropriately for 40k. Mind you, I reckon they’d look awesome as a PMC in Infinity!

No doubt. As a man, I always appreciate having the EMPTY SPACE BETWEEN MY KNEES AND AND BETWEEN MY ANKLES heavily protected.

they look pretty cool. GW didnt invent light armors and heavy armors. I prefer the look of their ‘Centurion’ anyway, more bulky. They really feel like a tank on leg.

From a realistic point of view they have obviously put some thought into the leg guards, you could only fit so much armour between a set of legs before walking would be difficult. So the guards are there covering what would be one of the weakest points of the armour.
Is it just me or do these miniatures look perfect for Inheritance!!

Anyone else thinking the Troopers body + a head from Mimic Miniatures?
Isn’t the Destroyer just the Ripper with the helmet on and rockets on the shoulders? I like the “GW sludge” way more than these. These just seem generic whereas, love them or hate them, the GW Space Marines have a more unique aesthetic.

The Taurus looks like a slab on wheels, not great to my eyes though maybe with a gun mounted on top it should improve. The Tropper (err I think they mean trooper) looks good but not as futuristic as I’d like and the Striker suit looks very cool but the last two suits look silly. I assume that power suits would be to protect hard hitting shock troops not slow and clunky guys. Heavy hitters supporting them would more likely be aerial drones or mechs, those last two guys would never keep up; they’d probably be heavy enough to survive… Read more »
