Marrow Production Bring Saiyuki & Journey To Life
July 19, 2013 by brennon
Marrow Productions is a team that seems to have gone under the radar for the past few weeks and months but spying their newest release has prompted a closer look. Check out their model work on Journey, a new game inspired by the old Japanese TV show Saiyuki...
The first model that drew me to their collection was this one, Tripitaka. He looks awesome with plenty of detail, at least from this latest shot. He was one of the main characters in the show alongside this fellow...
Check out the Monkey King himself, painted up and based on an awesome diorama. However don't be thinking that this tabletop version of the story is going to be stuck in the past. As you can see the artists have gone to extreme lengths to make this an epic looking mature project.
Apart from a few snippets on the rules and a few models in addition to the ones you see above it appears not a lot of people know more about this game but it will be interesting to follow it's development.
I suggest checking out their Facebook page for more.
What do you think of this new take on an old classic?

Wow
The pics on the FB page made me wet myself a little :*)
We’ve had this trip down monkey memory lane before but these look beyond anything I’ve seen before. I liked pigsy best.
Stand back Son Goku, here comes Monkey King. Both look great.
Awesome ! 😀
This is the type of models that get me back into painting mode. I need to get myself one of each.
good stuff, he needs a cloud to fly round on though
Loved it!! I want these minis for my collections!!
New photo up on the FB page of Tripitaka painted up and
… well look for yourselves 😀
Also an update on Monk Sha:
The legs look a bit on the short side but probably are not too bad under all his paraphenalia.
The broad shoulders, massive arms and style of boots and leggings make his legs look a bit weird.
But by gum some right sculpting
