4Ground Get Sci-Fi Smelting & Stalingrad Terrain Arrives Friday
January 24, 2018 by brennon
4Ground teamed up with TheTerrainTutor last week to show off some of the new Stalingrad Terrain which is going to be available as part of their World At War range this Friday.
You can check out the buildings in more detail above thanks to the video put together by TheTerrainTutor. We also got these into the studio recently and they are looking like the perfect backdrop for an invasion force.
Ruined buildings are pretty hard to get right I think as you have to make sure that you skirt the line between them being useful and being realistic. In particular, it's the little details that remind you that once upon a time the buildings were once lived in that are important.
As you can see, 4Ground have worked in a lot of height to these buildings offering you places to sit snipers and more. I like the idea of doing some ambush scenarios set around these kits.
Sci-Fi Smelting
As well as this Historical terrain, the team have also been working on more for their 28mm Jesserai range as they showed off this Smelting Plant.
The section comes with some awesome looking features including a hopper that actually tilts, dropping the raw materials into the carts that run around the little facility.
You're also going to get all the extra gubbins that comes with this set it seems including the security fencing and more. This could be a neat place for a properly cinematic skirmish game.
What do you think of their work?

Ooo wow Stalingrad games got 3Der than ever.
Love the bases interconnecting.
The Stalingrad stuff is fabulous. T T is right, the modularity is a treat. I´m absolutely sure to get some of these. It will make my gaming table for city warfare in WW II so much more interesting. And I can playtest the rules for inhouse fighting I found for Bolt Action even better.
4Ground, this is a tremendous job! Carry on!
Are they doing this in 15mm too? Would seriously buy into it then.
One of my favorite battle grounds is Stalingard
I wonder how the size of the squares compares to deadzone. I think this would work pretty well for a more established colony map.
