3 Colours Up: Painting Trollblood Tartan
November 10, 2017 by crew
We're joined once again this week with Dallas from Privateer Press to show us how to paint those deliciously handsome Trollblood models in their Scottish attire.
Unfortunately we can't all acquire tartan paint, we've still got Justin searching in the town for a tub we asked him for eight years ago.
However with the simple techniques shown in this video, Dallas makes any type of pattern easily feasible with just a few simple colours. Tartan doesn't have to be difficult, or detailed; you just have to make it look like it's tartan!

thanks Dallas. my little brother wants to attempt a bit of tartan so he’ll be made up.
that scrubbing brush is genius, I need to make myself one of those.
That scrubby brush is my friend! Never leave home without him 🙂
Hey, I learned a thing ! 🙂
Awesome!
Wow, that’s really a good job, boy you make things look easy lol, now it is down to my hand, Shacky Stevens. Not as steady as you… Good tip there.
Check out my latest episode of Get Your Paint On, I go over some tips to stabilize your hands and general ergonomics 🙂
Man I loved this tutorial! Really simplified something that, when looking at a finished model, can look so complicated to know where to start. Thanks so much @dallas 🙂 Az
It’s all about breaking things down and simplifying 🙂
