These painting videos are just great John (trying to sound like darrell), tumbs up! I would like to ask a question, do you use the “third-hand” when you paint offcam also or is it just to make it easier for us to see you paint? Because i am wondering if it is worth buying one since I have a guard battleforce coming from wayland next week an have alot of painting to do. Cheers!
Where do I get that vice clamp that you are holding your model with
He said in the first painting vid that you can get them from most hobby shops or Games Workshop.
really love this video, going to use it to help me paint my set of Sanguinary Guard i got for my B’day 🙂
love the vid but would like to see imperial guard painting vids
really, like the video, I’m trying to achieve the niceness of a model this beutiful. I am really trying with my Tau, but I can’t find colours that are complementing each other… -.- But I think I’ll get them goodlooking soon enough! 😛
where can i get that little stand thing you guys use to hold the model?
Hi @wargamerdom1313 it’s called a helping hands clamp do a quick search in goggle with that term and you will see loads of places.
Here’s some results on ebay http://tinyurl.com/38rpare
this was good but i think they should have more ork stuff cause there is very little of it so i think they should have an ork week or somthing
Like the paint job but personally i like a little more contrast on the feathered areas. Learnt a few new tricks though cheers.
I did my S.Guards in scorshed earth, blending in beastial brown drybrushing it on, then drybrushing only beastial, adding snakebite, then going over to snakebite and then adding in skull white, takes only like 5-10 min but looks great. The guy was chaos black sprayed and the wings sprayed skull white before assembly, then just washing the wings down with fortress gray blended with water. all red gems are merhite red and then red with a baal wash and then when dryed giving the gems a badab black wash around to give it defenition.
all in all took about 50min
i am starting a blood angel army should i get thees ?
i love this vid but you should post a khador painting vid
i like the idea of the mixed brown base coat probably would have washed the whole model with really watered down black wash to define the lines lol and ruined it.
whats that banging in the background?
Love the SHIRT!
Great Vid…. keep going
Question: wouldn,t it be nice to give the wings a wash to?
do you have a list of all the paints and washes , I’m starting warhammer 40 k again and all my paints are ruined.LOL Great job by the way!
Oy – Suggestions. 1. Wear gloves. Oil on your hands gets on the model, weakens the paint bond, and will discolor the paint. Its not really dry for at least a few hours, and handling the model while painting will dull the color. 2. Mount the model on an empty paint pot (fill the pot w sand) using poster tack. 3. Use a paint pallet for goodness sake. Your brush gets trashed going directly into the 100% paint pots. 4. For the highlights use a 1:1 mix of water to paint. You notice how your highlights have a hard edge…… Read more »
I love sanguinary guard , now i can paint them like a god !!!
Will this video be coming back up?
can you guys re upload the how to paint videos from your seven days of sanguinius?
Since you are painting GW model I assume you are obliged to use GW paints?
If not, then why not use the best gold paints on the market – Vallejo Liquid Gold? Best covering ever. You just paint one layer, for example Rich Gold and wash it. Done.
Of course there are many tones in the range so nothing keeps you from building your gold with shadows and highlights.
My BA army will be really dark red with black, with a reapers theme. So painting them gold might not be the best idea. But I’m not sure what to do instead, any suggestions?
a fab looking quick paint job.
