Keep ’em coming Romain, you may have inspired me to paint mine after all (once I’ve finished painting my WWX starter set)
As for my favourite movie – Aliens. The inspiration for so many wargames and scenarios that infest our little hobby world
Once again Romain delivers equal parts painting expertise and sardonic humor.
11:40: “We’re leaving little halos, which we will fix later in the highlight phase, which we will get to at some point … before we die.”
Sounds like some classic gamer’s procrastination. “Look at all this shiny I bought at Salute! When will I build and paint all this stuff? At some point … before we die.” 😀
There’s a wiki for everything! And apparently they do have a language. http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Yautja_(Predator)
Oooooh ! Thank you very much. I will most definitely use that in RPGs.
Thank you for the great response you guys give me ! I love my fans ! 😀
And I personally think Alien (1) and Predator (1) were the best from their franchises! Can’t wait for part 4. Thanks Romain!
Well, they were all very good indeed (except Alien 3, which I hate for various reasons), and evne though I may have a favorite, that favorite may change depending on my mood. I generally prefer Aliens and Alien : Resurrection (controversial, I know, but I like it visually), but the first movie always manages to chill my blood no matter what !
another fab tutorial…
the predator is looking great romain.
fantastic and helpful Romain cant wait next week!
Romain, what do you use in your wet palette – just water? I remember someone saying to use tea tree oil as well, to preserve it? Anyway, can you let me know how you set yours up thanks, I appreciate it.
I only use water in my wet palette. In fact I’m a bit confused… Tea tree oil is an essential oil that’s used, as far as I know, only in cosmetics (with mixed results, like all essential oils)… I maybe mistaken, but that’s the first time I hear about it for painting, even oil painting. And essential oils and extracts are fare too expensive to use for painting, since they’re no better than the regular stuff (they just smell nice, usually). I paint with acrylics, water-soluble. Adding any type of oil wouldn’t mix with the water, would possibly ruin the… Read more »
Great to be looking at 3 colours up again. Alien 3 was a bit rubbish all right but Alien Resurrection was total rubbish. 🙂
Eh. I completely understand. Alien 4 was… a bit of fun, to be honest, and had a lot to do after Alien 3 ruining any potential for a sequel and introducing mutating aliens. I admit Alien Resurrection isn’t exactly in tone with the rest, and it’s really a matter of taste if one likes it or not. Still, better than Prometheus, though… 🙂
Alien was and still is a classic, but for me Aliens kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through and so it bears the crown.
This Predator is looking suitably awesome, looking forward to part 4.
