Hi Romain, Another great tutorial. I look forward to every one of these, you’re tutorials are the reason I signed up for the backstage. I seem to be having trouble with my wet palette (it’s a sta-wet one) and hopefully you can give me some advice. It seems to dry out really quickly. If I add too much water it just makes all the colours run. I don’t know if my room is just really warm or if it’s the daylight bulb I’m using. Do you have any plans for painting any more Infinity miniatures in upcoming tutorials? The sculpts… Read more »
Thanks ! The fact that you signed up means a lot to me and the team ! 🙂 1) I haven’t had any experience with the Sta-wet palette. I use makeshift ones myself, it’s much less expensive and it works perfectly : a flat spunge-cloth, some porous oven paper, a plate, and you’re in business. Does the paint dry as quickly as when you’re using a normal palette ? If the room you’re working in is very dry (even if t’s not too warm) or if you have one of the old daylight bulbs (blueish tinted bulbs of the old… Read more »
Thanks for the reply, Romain.
It doesn’t dry as fast as a a normal palette, but doesn’t stay as wet for as long as I’d like (or think it should).
Still learning to get the best from my paints and equipment!
Hi Romain!
And it is all so very easy…
Shame on me :'(
Fernando
Pah ! You’ll get there with practice.
The important thing is that you’re having fun while you do ! 🙂
I have this lovely model sitting on my desk. Thanks for the inspiration and your way of dealing with black areas on models was very helpful! Often I mixed in areas of dark grey to create layers, this style works better.
I became a backstager to support the BoW mates, but a great bonus is all the painting instruction and witty banter. Thanks, again Romain.
Thank you for your viewership and your many kind words ! Glad to be useful. 🙂

hahaha….. don’t be so bashful Romain. You’re good and you know it so stop it. hah.
nice work
Thank you sir! Great tips as usual. I would love to know where I can get the magnifying lamp you are using. Cheers!
Sorry but I finally found it on Amazon…here ya go guys…ordered it and looking forward to having the same kit as Romain….Lite Source LSM-198WHT Magnar Diopter Magnifier Desk Lamp….Cheers!
If it’s any use to you, I’m actually not using the magnifying part… Any white neon bulb works perfectly fine !
I also signed up for Backstage and you were one of the main reasons (also to support a site I love and use everyday!). I would LOVE to see more videos or content from you!
Thanks a bunch !
There will indubitably be more content from me, backstage and front-stage.
Where is part III? I’m eager to see what’s next on Kings of War week!!
It’s a comin’, don’t worry !
Any news on part III?
Inspirational as always. Quality tutorial, thank you
