Remind me never to paint a lizardmen army. It’s a great technique and it produces great looking results, but after stippling the second or third mini I think I’d want to gouge my eyes out with the back end of my paint brush. I can’t imagine painting a regiment of the little buggers like this. Maybe character models only and simpler techniques for the rest of the army.
This would be awesome for smaller projects though. If I ever need a scaled cape, I know which videos I’m going to come back to and review.
That’s exactly the idea ! And I said so.
This is only for the heroes and the characters…
Other tutorials are for speed painting.
Mind you, simply with pre-shading and a wash of jade green (Vallejo) or arcane blue (P3), you get a pretty good turquoise that’s slightly grainy, just fine for speed painting lizardmen…
Really like watching you work matey. I thought you were making the tips on the scales a bit too light (but I was glad to be wrong), but once you were done it gave the model real depth and movement! I think you need to give it a nice swampy base using some model water and maybe a voice and it will all be done 😀
Keep up the good work and as Johney 5 would say, “hmmmmm more input” 😛
Thanks a lot !
I’ve always said one shouldn’t be afraid of a little contrast… There’s more to good painting than gradients !
a great looking model well painted.
