Well, I don’t play War Machine, But I was trying to get some House Kurita / Draconis Combine mechs to this kind of “brick red” in BattleTech somewhat recently. I’ve actually used Romain’s tips on this from past videos (re: one of his favorites, Hull Red, which looks to be almost a brown) when I’m mixing acrylics for painting on plastic or primed metals. This is pretty much what I do, I would mention that when you using airbush colors are one shade brighter than paint straight from pot and brush. I start from brown and do exactly same steps the only difference is you use more orange to do shining effect on brightest parts and to be honest I always though it will look to bright but you prove me wrong right now Romain. I also use purple more often than blue specially on fabrics maybe I should start using blue on armour – id does look a bit more darker. Thank you… Read more »
expanding my horizons again with that brick red. I had a go at Khador back in first edition with p3, It was my reintroduction to the hobby as an adult and the first time I tried to paint something properly. I went the sanguine way you mentioned as it was flavour of the month at the time. I also tried the two brush method that was popular , never really got the hang of it and was converted when I tried the glazing method you prefer after my rereintroduction to the hobby a couple of years ago.
