Ooo shiny very nice Romain liking the battle damage you added.
Looks really good man, I think I will continue using pleb paint for the moment that looks like an extra ordinary amount of effort for me :/
Your a better man than me Romain but I am sure you already knew that 😛
Meh, I just explain things decently on camera. But thank you, you are kind !
I’m not saying this should be your go-to way to do metals (it’s certainly not mine ! Even with an airbrush, it’s a bit time-consuming) but it’s an interesting way to do it, and good stuff for, say, a shoulder pad, a shield, a blade or an emblem… or that special paladin character you really want to show off.
This is for display painting, and when considering that goal, you spend the time it takes. No more, no less.
thanks Romain, i’m now super chilled and ready for a weekend of painting.
Thank you Romain. This turned out awesome.
class act to follow
how did you do that, that’s right keep watching.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone ! I’m glad you like that one… the middle-line metallic reflection/shine is a nice little trompe-l’oeil trick that’s a lot easier to do than one would think, once one knows the proper method.
Great tutorial! Can’t wait to try it. I’m having some trouble sourcing the Army Painter paints though, particularly Gorgon Hide and Necromancer’s Cloak. What would you suggest as alternatives? I was thinking either Vallejo German Grey or Sombre Grey for the Necromancer’s Cloak, but I’ve got no clue with Gorgon Hide.
Thanks ! 🙂 Necromancer cloak is any type of really dark grey… Sombre grey is a bit too light, I think. If you’re using Citadel, you could do something with charadon granite and/or necron abyss. In P3, you’d have to mix any of the warm greys (Bastion grey for example) with black. With Vallejo, German Camouflage (all of them, includig luftwaffe and uniforms) is/are interesting as well, along with USA Olive Drab, and the like (it’s quite close to Necromancer Cloak, on its own, but not exactly the same). Don’t poo-poo Exile Blue(P3) or Necron Abyss(Citadel) or Periscopes (Vallejo) or… Read more »
