and btw awesome tattoo, when did you get it?
Thanks, and thanks !
Which tattoo ?
I thought the Flames of War dropper bottle paints were Vallejo. They have the same numbers as the Vallejo paints with the same name. The Flames of War spray paints are Army Painter, I believe.
I don’t think so… It’s all Army Painter. Unless one of us is confusing them with teh Panzer Aces range…
I was pretty sure to be right, but now I’m having doubts… Dang !
Ok, I broke out the books. I’m looking at my FoW hobby book and the paint colors are all referenced with 3-digit numbers that match Vallejo Model Color paint numbers by the same name. I’ve used the FoW and VMC colors pretty interchangeably on my FoW models. It’s an easy mistake to make because the bottles are the same, and we know that the spray paints are Army Painter. I think what happened is Battlefront/GF9 made the deal with Vallejo years ago, long before they decided to do the primer sprays. They just used Vallejo’s existing model color range and… Read more »
You’re right on all counts, except that Vallejo really does do sprays…
Spot on !
Another great tutorial. I often wonder what happens to all the figures after. Do you finish them later? or is there a minis graveyard in the studio somewhere ?
There is a graveyard sadly. The only ones he completes (for BoW, at least. I imagine his home collection is pretty awesome) are the ones where he shows you the finished result in the video. Personally, I’m finding it very helpful for me to just accept that some of my minis are “test” minis that will never be done satisfactorily. I experiment more with new techniques and colors that way if I’m not expecting every one to go on the table at some point. I think it helps to just sacrifice a mini once in a while to the cause.
Well, the “graveyard” figures can always get completed later on, in more tutorials… At least I hope so !
But you’re right : the only “completed” minis so far are the ones shown in the full tutorials. There’s just no point in wasting time finishing up those minis off camera, at least for now…
I’m trying to watch this today (25.10) and the vid stops at 23:43 🙁
Forget that – it worked fine when I reloaded the page 🙂
