such a beautiful work of art, thank you for sharing this with us Romain and for the tips you gave us 🙂 Never used coal black before … i’ll have to add that to my collection, but with hull red i have to fullheartedly agree, it’s such a nice color.
Awww… I’m blushing now… 🙂
Yay lets do some painting together Romain. finish your captain and I will do my capitol trenchmans! are you planning to do live hangouts too?
An interesting idea, to be sure… I’d rather give live classes, though !
And thanks for the vote of confidence ! 🙂
Sounds like an idea for a session at a bootcamp….
an amazing job as always romain love the way all the little details show up.
Thank you very much !
It’s the details and the “coming alive” of a figure that we live for as painters, isn’t it ?
yup.
Well, on your recommendation I picked up some Hull Red, what a superb colour, so many uses.
Merci Romain.
great series start to finish. the contrasting colours and wet blending on the base were the big eye opener for me in part three. the turquoise glow highlights is something i will be definitely be using .
will you be watching the infinity live stream angel giraldez seminars this weekend?
they have previewed his new book and you must be excited to see the luxumbra content.
the new busts and talk of large scale infinity miniatures , i guess 54mm, all designed with the painter in mind. i would love to see you tackle one of those busts.
Ooooh yes. SO much yes… 🙂
And thank you for the kind words !
I love the shading on the hair and the boots. Despite knowing better I’m often hesitant of using such high contrasts.
For years I was afraid of proper highlights… all it takes is a few mistakes, and we all make them. Don’t worry about it ! 🙂
What an amazing job. Love the painting style and techniques used throughout these videos.
What do you use for sealer afterwards?
No sealant if it’s for display, as it alters the colours… Most of the time, a matte varnish from Vallejo. The army Painter one isn’t bad either. Avoid “satin” or “gloss”, which will make your miniatures seem toylike. I sometimes play with brush-on varnishes for different glossy/wet effects.
Wow! She turned out absolutely amazing! Thank you so mich for sharing.
I’m totally in awe of the turqouise light on the guns. Do you have a tutorial here on BoW thqt goes more into depth on how to create light effects like that with glazes? What angles to look for, where to out extreme highlights etc? If not, I hope you can be persuadef to make one, cause I really love the gorgeous effect you made on the guns.
Thanks for the amazing compliments !
I’ve done this several times on full tutorials, but you’re right, there’s no specific “glow” tutorial yet. I’ll endeavour to make one next season ! 🙂
Thanks Romain. I’ll be looking very much forward to this. Your tutorials are always such an inspiration for me, and I learn so much.
Wow. She is stunning. While I’d not do it myself, the gradient of contrasting colours from the mini herself is a lovely idea.
Kalico Cate my love, mmmmmmmm
Really nice.

Awesome work
