If I may join my voice to Romain here, I can’t stress enough how addicted I am to Vallejo’s Hull Red, it’s a wonderful colour. Warm, covering, it mixes well with other colours, even other brands and it dilutes wonderfully for washes and glazes.
That’s a great looking scuplt. I’ll enjoy seeing the rest of this tutorial.

Hi Romain, Will you do any tutorials using oil paints?
In all probability, I won’t… Sorry ! Oil doesn’t dry quickly, and often doesn’t dry at all if you don’t add a certain catalyst. This is perfect for doing gradients and “painting fresh”, but it’s very different from acrylics, for which the technique is closer to watercolour and gouache… I find oils and enamels much less direct and interesting than acrylics, myself, but they have their moments… Be that as it may, oil painting is a very inconvenient medium for gamers, and it is not in any way better than acrylics, you just have different techniques for arriving at similar… Read more »
I’ve watched a number of these, and every time you have a moist layer on your palette before you start mixing your paints. I haven’t seen enough videos to see you talk about it–what material is that, and what is it used for? Is it to keep the paint from drying while mixed and used?
