Space Pink Eye. love it!
Great colours and tones Romain
The video that launched a thousand blood and bone ships
Yes, well… i honestly don’t know why they didn’t think of it for one of the official colour schemes. It’s obvious when you look at the sculpt ! 🙂
And that ship shall be named ‘The Bucket of Blood’.
Just awesome painting!
Parfaitement horrible. Beau boulot! 😉
I’ll remember these tutorials when I finally get to paint my Zombicide figurines. 😀
I like the way you describe the model as been horrible and beautiful at the same time. Great effect using the minimum of colours.
Thanks ! 🙂
Yes, I think the sculpts for DZC inspire simplicity. I also aim to show something one can easily do at home (maybe simplifying a bit here and there), perhaps even chain-painting a lot of ships…
The only tedious part is reddening the veins, really, because it’s precise and a bit long… other than that, it’s all easy-peasy : washes and dry-brushing, with big brushes.
Easy chain-paint colour scheme… you’re talking my language here.
I wonder if I could pull this off with my newly massing Napoleonic 15mm minis… maybe not 😉
In 15mm ? Sure you could. Same colour scheme ? I don’t think so…
Awesome stuff, I would love to see a full army in this scheme it would be a lot more disturbing than the classic purple 🙂
That looks absolutely revolting. Superb work!
The evil cackle at 2:58 is bone chilling. 🙂 Great stuff!
“Yes . . . horrible. That is gruesome.”
Love the color designs looks like someone’s organ that has just been ripped out and sat on the table very organic.
Ugh … that just brought up a nasty idea. Instead of carrying organ donor cards for science or medicine, you could donate your organs to gaming.
“Man, when I die, someone’s gonna get some great gaming pieces. I have a spleen that would make a perfect Scourge drop ship!”
Somehow I just remembered Greg Proops…
“Look ! The pancreas is an elf ! And the goblins are made out of the ilsles of Langerhans…”
Great tutorial as always.
There are a couple of points in the video where – if you freeze frame – you could easily believe that Romain was butchering part of a small chicken ready to insert the garlic and herb flavourings before gently sauteeing to serve with a plate of fresh salad leaves. Nice work!
I’m now thinking what other model ranges could take this colourset?
– underside of 40k Nids
– WHF Beastmen & various large creatures
– Some Achtung Cthulu models
…

Chicken requires more cooking time… the way to do it is in an oven. Inserting a whole onion and some garlic, of course, and lifting the skin to put tarragon underneath. Oil, salt and pepper liberally, herbs everywhere… Keep the juices well inside. Delicious ! 🙂
Same thing with beastmen, although more tarragon.
Looks great, but another white skinned model? 😛
Technically, it’s got no skin…
I will be using this as a basis for another beastie with no skin… beautifully horrible.
