Well, I know how I’ll be painting my Xenomorphs once AvP starts shipping! 😀
..also, for the record, I liked almost everything about Alien Resurrection apart from the creature effect for the hybrid. I also get the feeling that the crew of the Betty were kind of Whedon’s prototype for Mal and co in Firefly.
EXACTLY ! This is pure Whedon, close to its best…
I wondered where this was going… nice!
@24:45 … great sound effects… your invitation to the audition is in the post 😉
Thanks ! I try…
Very nice you were being modest their? Better blending than I have ever managed.
Cool, like the fire effect.
Lovely work, another great tutorial.
Quick question. What paint line is Carapace green? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Sorry, I was using the french name… This is Verde Casposo, or Scurvy Green, Vallejo Game Color reference 72.028… Mine is slightly glossy, but this is an old pot, they may have altered the glossiness of the formula. No matter, as this is solved by varnish anyway.
Still, you hardly need a colour chart reference… there are many tones that are very close in many brands… The important thing is that you make the miniature your own ! 🙂
I’m trying to teach you guys how to “cook”, not how to follow a recipe… 😉
Love the glow effect, you’ve inspired me to try it on the Space Hulk minis I have yet to paint!
I have to find a suitable mini to try that directional light effect. I think the end result is very catching.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone ! 🙂
I’d love to see someone paint their entire plague army like this. I imagine you’d have to get a little creative with the folks who haven’t started sprouting bone and carapace however.
Excellent work Romain.
Thanks !
For other plague victims, I thought about a pale purplish fleshtone, with green alien-like chitin in some places… Same colour scheme, but paler purple, and the green very much separated from the purple. Quite horrid.
You’re a better teacher than you are a painter, and you’re a better painter than most will ever be. So thank you, your videos have been invaluable to me.
