Nice base. And great to see Menoth getting the Romain treatment (far superior to the “somegeezer” treatment)
Thanks !
Are you referring to an actual painter, or is it just a generic term ?
I’ll grant you that I paint better than the average guy, but I’d never disparage a fellow painter.
I was referring to myself 🙂
I haven’t seen your work, but I’m sure you shouldn’t sell yourelf short : it’s all about practice and having fun !
Between 20 years without picking up a paintbrush, a lack of free time and aging eyes I’m not the painter I once was. But I certainly have fun.
Well, I’ve started wearing glasses, even for videos now, despite common vanity… As long as fun is had, all is well ! 😉
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks !
I think you’ll enjoy the next few days, then…
Romain!
They need to give you more screen time, seriously =)
I appreciate the compliment ! However, this is not “Beasts of Romain”… Plenty of stuff to be done and games to talk about ! 😉
I’m really looking forward to the rest of this one. Source lighting, lava, basing. It’s like someone knew exactly what I wanted. One question though. The liquid putty you’re using, do you find it has a less grainy texture than the liquid green stuff? It kind of looks like it from the images on the video, but it’s hard to tell. I’ve tried using the liquid green stuff a few times for various purposes and I’m very disappointed with the texture of it so far. I haven’t had a chance to play with the Vallejo stuff yet, but if it’s… Read more »
Thanks ! 🙂 Liquid green stuff is grainy and the solubility is… off, somehow. It’s also very expensive. Plastic Putty from Vallejo keeps its texture longer, no matter what. It’s white, and it doesn’t get grainy when you water it down. It’s a better product in every way, in my opinion. What I use at home is this plastic putty, the “solid” version of green stuff (but not from Citadel, you can get the same one for cheaper in larger quantities from other sources… I use it as an alternative or a complement to glueing or pinning, and to fill… Read more »
Great vid Romain keep up the great work. BTW is there any chance of pics of your winning fig from the painting comp you won that was mentioned on Saturday’s Weekender ?
I’m lousy at taking pictures… 🙁
Your best bet as of now is waiting for Draggonslayers or Q-Con to upload the pics on their facebook pages or on the Q-Con website.
I’ll try and make some time to take pictures for Minirama, but it’s not high on my list of priorities.
In any case, thank you for your interest in my travels and adventures, and thank you for the kind words !
great tutorial i think im going to use the same idea for a base with rock overlooking the sea for my dark elf corsair hero.
Thanks… you’ve got the right idea !
I like it when people don’t just “apply the recipe” but take what they need from my tutorials and experiment ! 🙂
Wonderful to see my Menoth being painted so masterfully!
