Games Workshop Painting Tutorial: How To Paint Lord Celestant Vandus Hammerhand
July 9, 2015 by brennon
The painting tutorials for Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar continue with the painting of the main Order character from the Starter Set named Vandus Hammerhand. See what you think of Duncan Rhodes' techniques above...
This is quite an interesting model and not something I imagine most of us would have expected to pop up from Age of Sigmar. I love the beast beneath him, Drakoth, and the rider is quite the impressive warriors too.
What colours would you paint yours in?

Whilst no GW fan boy ( Those years are long past) I did nip in to the Truro store and looked at the new figures and they’re very impressive for a starter set. If the future miniatures display the usual step up from starter sets we will all be impressed.
GW have often been the leaders in quality and while the gap between them and the rest is not as wide as previously its still clearly visible. When you get a chance to see and study the actual pieces I’m sure most people will be impressed.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Having seen them in person they really are nice miniatures.
Not a GW player myself, I do enjoy their miniatures.
