Anarchy Models – Airbrushing With Micro Hex Grid Stencils
October 5, 2015 by crew
Anarchy Models are currently running a Kickstarter for their HS Stencil System and they've added a selection of new designs to the range.
Check Out The Kickstarter Here
Brian has been in the studio showing off how they work, kicking off with the Micro Hex Grid, and explaining what kind of cool effects they can add to your miniatures.
Have you used these stencils before?

I am not a big fan of vehicles but this sort of stuff really, makes me like the idea of painting up a whole lot of vehicles.
I think this will be the first kickstarter I back. Also I don’t know if it was just me but there was some odd audio moments in that video, around 10-12 minutes.
Nice effect, i assume there is nothing stopping you taping the stencil down with some low tack tape. Also does any one know how durable the stencils are?
The stencils are very durable mate
Made of good stuff, though obviously the better care you take of them the longer they will last.
Good to know thanks, guess the next question is, any plans on a stencil care article/vid? never seen anything like that on any of the mini airbrushing related blogs i frequent??
Let me talk to @johnlyons about that tomorrow!
I’m sure i will be adding one at some point 🙂
As warren says, the HS stencils are pretty durable. Also solvent proof and washable.
@anarchymodels great to hear it from the horses mouth as it were 🙂 hope to be backing the KS if i can sneak it past she who must be obeyed master of the purse strings ;). As an aside, your original series of vids here is what tipped me over thedge into becoming a backstager, cant wait for the rest of this series 🙂
No problem. I hope to do a video myself showing durability and cleaning of the HS stencils in the next few days, which I will post on the KS campaign, so keep an eye out for that.
Glad the vids helped you become a back stager.
.
my your sneakiness be very sneaky indeed :-p
( like the sneaky butler out of Me Deeds – with Adam Sandler)
god vid, cant wait for more
nice love the end result.
Really cool video, ordered some of the stencils yesteady, but going to have to wait a few weeks to try them out as I am not able to airbrush atm 🙁
@anarchymodels – nice video!
Can you tell us what paints you used? Not just ‘vallejo’, but which paints / types specifically? Game Air? And the inks? What were they?
Thanks!
I second angelicdespot’s motion.
Dunno if the offer is still on, but i managed to snag the game ink box set on amazon for £10. Great product but had never thought of using them like a ghost tint, had been playing with the tamiya clear range for that with mixed results, i think the blue ink may be the easy to find plasma fluid equivalent in the UK, shall have to give it a go and find out! 🙂
HI, the actual paints, some were game air, some were model air. they are the same stuff, just different colours.
the inks are labels as “Game Ink”
hope this helps,
Brian
.
These are gonna be fun when I get them. Also plan to back a Kickstarter for these.
thanks!
I am not playing FoW and I am not going to, but I still love to watch the show. You guys are great at this.
