This is a great way to add some nice flavour to your big wild cats and even the odd Hippogriff or Griffon too.
What do you think of this for quick and easy animal print?

You could also use, a brush!
This is getting awfully close to being paint-by-numbers. And it is SO not my thing.
Hardly paint by numbers, just a different technique, no more so than say dry brushing, or dipping, and if you can get that sort of finish in under an hour then frankly that’s awesome set a production line up and have a whole unit ready for detailing in the time it would take you to be maybe half way through one done by hand….
Looks interesting. Sound on the video seemed to be running about 45 seconds behind the pictures
As for the stencils. Anything that speeds the process up is good in my book
not sure what you mean dude I’ve had a look through and all tha audio seems fine on my end.
Youtube has been behaving it self my end as well.
@torros and here was me thinking everyone loved applying leopard print with a brush…lol
Of course not.Giraffe print yes,but never leopard
Ahh I stand corrected… but at least no one can call us cheetahs…
Thank you get much. Kindly leave the stage
lol
Looks great, would hate to attempt to do those markings by hand, would just be too tedious to maintain quality through out especially while trying to maintain a random distribution. Cant wait for an excuse to blast my game ink’s through my airbrush 🙂
if you good painter and need only one model to be painted that way I dont think is makes any difference, including cleaning airbrush it would take about same time to paint it, if you are NOT as good, than yest it would make big difference.
i can see your point if you only are looking at a single model but it depends on what standard your looking for honestly since i got a working airbrush rig a week ago i have found that its not much time to clean after a session and the speed of application is far greater and the finish is far more consistant. so overall i would go this route. aas to cost well i have lots of bits i have accumulated over the years for a single project so its nothing new to me.
That is awesome… Not that I would consider this a final result, but it’s a huge help as the start of brushwork for display-painting fur and spots !
I agree with you as it really can help with setting up a pattern and helping keep the marks well spaced. After going with the airbrush and stencil, you could go over with a brush to highlight and touch up the pattern. I can see this as an aid to traditional painting.
looks brilliant and quick for that quality results
Firstly the end result looks very good, secondly a couple of things that I feel could of improved the tutorial. 1, when you sprayed the black ink you mentioned turning the pressure down, I know why you did that so you didn’t get bleed at the edge of the stencils but a new person looking at stencilling may not. 2, when you refer to the inks and say very thinned etc just do a quick shot of the actual paint mix showing viewers what you mean. Lastly I can see how using stencils can really add some extra details but… Read more »
