3 Colours Up: Painting a WW2 Sherman Tank Part 1 of 2
August 31, 2011 by dignity
Here's something new from the BoW archive! It's amazing what you can find in there if you look hard enough.
Take a look as a young, fresh-faced version of John paints one of his beloved Flames of War Sherman Tanks.
Awesome! More painting vids from the archives – keep ’em coming!
It was these kinds of tutorials that first got me into BoW.
Probably my favorite Tutorial to do. 🙂
I thought it was the Stompa 😉
Nice to see John in action again! Keep these archived vids coming, especially if you can restore the old painting tutorials that were previously hosted on Youtube. It was these vids that first drew me to BoW.
I couldn´t agree more!
You can never go wrong with posting tank videos.
Looking forward to part 2
I would like to see more of John and his tank painting. I love all the extra knowledge he gives out on this.
Looking forward to the next installment, and would love to see it in 28mm 🙂
Great vid when do we get part 2?! I have at least 12 shermans plus M10’s to do. Keep the painting vids coming.
nice but the paint used (in my opinion) was way too thick generaly for tanks it is better to use a couple of thin coats of paint to basecoat so you avoid brush strokes also when you were freehanding on the camo pattern the paint was kind of in a blob shape on the end of your brush meaning that you couldnt get a really fine line because you paint was too thick. its nice to see some of the older tutorials though and I look forward to part 2
US tanks sucked compared to the german and they still do.
The british version of the Sherman was alot better then the American, Indeed.
Its Superiority was mass-production and much lighter tanks such as the panzer III and shitty japanese ones in the pacific.
Or am i wrong, please correct me.
You guys need to make sure John is well paid….LOL!! Cheers!!
I’ve got a question for john in this video. How did you find a sherman therenext to impossible to find and can you a video on it when ur done 🙂
