4Ground Running Fabled Realms Demos At Firestorm Games This Weekend!
June 15, 2017 by brennon
The team from 4Ground are going to be at Cardiff at Firestorm Games across Friday and Saturday this weekend running demo games of The Legends Of Fabled Realms.
You will be able to meet the guys and play the game during the following hours...
- Friday: 5pm - 12am
- Saturday: 10am - 5pm
This will give you a chance to play the game before the Kickstarter goes live at noon on the 30th June! In addition, the Firestorm Games venue is great and offers up seventy gaming tables, a great store and even a licenced bar as well.
Will you be going along to check out the game? We've been checking it out at a few different conventions over the past few months and it has always taken people by storm when they see the models and get stuck into the mechanics.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below...

Wish i could attend, but will have to be content with the demo games i already have had at games expo, it is a really good fun game 😀
If you make it I’d definitely recommend it. Well worth a demo 🙂
*If you can make it
And I’m working over the weekend – typical.
Just noticed Friday – Happy Kbog.
Yet another occasion when I am thwarted by this century’s lack of cross planet teleportational device ………………bugger
I’m with you beardragon14. I guess if I got a plane in the next few hours I might make it from Australia in time, maybe……
Hi beardragon14 and braeirden, there will be demo games shown on Beasts Of War before and during the kickstarter to show how the game plays. We are also going to be using kickstarter live videos through the kickstarter to talk about what is coming, how the game plays, stretch goals etc.
Let us know if there is anything in particular you guys would want to see? I may be able to answer the question here as well.
Cheers @4ground thanks 😉
Minis look sweet !
Hi 4ground, I love what I can see so far. I know a lot about the setting and basic game mechanisc. However, I would like to know more about the game scenarios. Is it always about killing each other? Or objectives driven? Thanks!
Ho paboook, in the rulebook their are 5 scenarios. 1 is the straight fight scenario that we have been demoing as it is the easiest to show. The other 4 scenarios are objective based, you have an attacking the caravan, attacking a village/inn, objective locations and recovering objectives from the table.
Finally every one of the feature buildings we produce will have its own scenario and the pdfs will be available from the website as well.
Has that answered the question or would you like some more information?
Regards,
Cad
I really like the caravan scenario idea. Perhaps it could be interesting to spice things up with random scenario complications? Rain, night, unfortunate civilians, hungry wolves etc. (Determined by special cards or dice roll).
I would also like to hear something about campaigns. Any plans for true story driven “rpg” campaign?
Thank you 🙂
That sounds very cool, we may produce a deck of complications at some point that could be very fun.
We have looked at story driven campaigns, we may do these as PDFs or small books, especially as you could do them cooperatively. Although for the first release the main campaign system is more like Mordhiem or Necromunda.
Glad you like it 🙂
Bringing forward basic campaign system and releasing some supplements later makes perfect sense.
Really can’t wait for this game! If the game is as good as the buildings they make this one is going to be a blast!
@4ground at what release window are you aiming with this one?
Hi Soldaan,
We are looking at a Early September 2018 dispatch for the kickstarter with a November release for retail. Some of the retail level kickstarter backers will have it mid October though.
Regards,
Cad
Great to see a realistic release date for once! Will you have more scenarios as SG’s or will there be individual characters that come with scenarios? Will each faction have their own specific cards?
Hi bors77,
If we get to the Broggenbridge SG there will be a scenario with that. Additionally there will be characters with scenarios in the future and if we get to the special characters in the SG then they will have scenarios.
Each faction does have its own specific cards.

Cad
Is there any way to get hold of these any earlier? Possible to give something in exchange, such as a soul for instance?
Hi pacific,
Maybe two souls and a burrito?
Regards,
Cad
Didn’t expect that but I’m actually interested to see more of all of the miniatures shown here. Especially the guardsmen, but the vampiric fighters too.
This game looks awesome but I’m really tired of everything going to Kickstarter first. I mean, would it kill them to release two starters (which are apparently ready) and then start Kickstarter to fund other factions?
Yes it would. If you launch a minis game straight to retail then Kickstarter send their ninjas to kill you in your sleep. Or, it could just be that doing it via KS allows them to do so much more and to get great marketing to boot. If it ain’t broke.
